Court Gets Crippled: An Update
First, I just want to say thank you for all the support so many of you have shown to me and Forest over this ridiculous arrest. With that being said, I have some updates for you..
Today was Forest’s arraignment. As much as we were hoping for a dismissal, Forest plead “not guilty” and we are set to go back to court on June 20th. Until today, we weren’t sure the specifics of the charges. During the arrest, all we knew was that is was “disorderly conduct” and had the officer mention that the reason we were made to leave was because we were being “vulgar”. As it turns out, “crippled” isn’t actually a vulgar word but rather (according to what the judge said via the arrest report) “grossly abusive language”.
So this begs the question: Who was the language abusive towards? The crippled girl using the word in reference to herself? The people that laughing at the crippled girl’s jokes? Or the one lady with a personal vendetta against Forest? Whatever the case may be, I will not let this issue rest. I will not sit back and allow anyone trample over my RIGHT to show and tell the world that I am PROUD to be CRIPPLED!
Before I bring this post to a close, I want to ask: What are your thoughts on this whole ordeal? What should our plan of action be? We welcome your thoughts, opinions, and criticisms. Unlike Cincinnati PD, we don’t censor folks.
Also, here is a video of the footage we got that night. The lady at the beginning flipped her shit the moment she saw Forest, before he even opened his purtty mouth.

Contact the ACLU. Then sue Cincinnati for everything they’re not worth.
Disorderly Conduct is what they charge you with when they don’t know what to charge you with. I am no fan of the ACLU but they might be in the best position to help you here. Good luck!

Over time you learn the police are the enemy (mostly of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights). I believe that any local authority to act in this manner is actually in violation of federal law, it’s fairly clear “TITLE 18, U.S.C., SECTION 242
Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, … shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both”
The ultimate humor is making a cop the felon he really is already!
My brother has a neurological disorder that causes him to move strangely. The cops beat him up because they thought he was drunk. Only, he doesn’t drink alcohol.
Please pardon me for including this rant, but I thought you should also know that the aforementioned comment originated with JUSTICE DEPARTMENT and specifically indicated POLICE as the violators!

Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.

As a permanently and totally disabled combat veteran of the Vietnam war I feel I can throw in my two cents worth. Firstly, I don’t care for the word “crippled,” I much prefer the term “gimp.” Having been a gimp for over 40 years it’s simply more comfortable for me. If you care to use it, the term gimp that is, please feel free. As a matter of fact, you seem to me to be one of those rare people to do in fact “feel free.” No matter what the closed minded believe, you are truly free, and they often resent the hell out of that. Stay free!

Lay the pen down and grab the sword. I met you several times at Off Kilt’r along with Landon, Kim, and Hanna. Enjoyed all of you there. I’ve been doing volunteer work with a few friends downtown Cincinnati, OTR, lower Price Hill. We’re not out there as a group or organization but just people caring about others and been doing it for going on 8 years. Last year after talking to a local street person that have known for 3 years a Officer pulls up and from there on I was kind of boiling but stayed good for once. What got me was after talking to one of Cincinnati’s finest about what I do down there her response was,- Well I don’t recognize you from any Church or Organization. So I happily took my ticket and said see you in court. The Judge which I know to be a good Judge on pre trial asked me my plea. telling him not guilty and him referring back to the prosecute which I already had a special moment with, told me that this carries no jail time….I told him that’s not the point, then he said I cannot get a public defender for this…..again I told him that’s not the point this is about right and wrong. They were very happy to let me pay a $75. fine but as an American it was up to me to stand up for whats right. My Attorney was $500. and after the Judge,Prosecutor, and Officer came out of the back (the Officer leaving very red faced) the case was dismissed for that it violated my First Amendment Rights which I knew and was willing to fight for. What isn’t right is that if I went without an Attorney would I have had the same outcome? I would of went to jail before I would ever pay a wrongful dime. I look forward to seeing your case in court and hope to be down there for it. Also now I’m in the process of giving the Officer an option of paying my $500. Attorney fee or volunteering two weekends with me in the streets. If she doesn’t chose either then I an filing suite both against her and the City. It’s important that after Forest wins his case which I believe he will to do the same as a point of principle.
